Will cities all over America erupt in violence if Mitt Romney wins the election? Right now we are probably witnessing the most divisive campaign in modern U.S. history, and both sides truly hate one another. Even CNN is running articles about how polarized politics in America has become and how vicious both sides can be. There is a lot of anger and frustration out there that has been bottled up for a long time, and this election could end up being a trigger event that releases a lot of it. Both sides are entirely convinced that they can win this tightly contested election, and one side is going to feel bitterly disappointed when it does not happen. Both sides are talking as if it is going to be “the end of America” or “the end of the world” if they lose this election. This is particularly true when it comes to Obama supporters. On social networking sites such as Twitter, many of them have actually been proclaiming that Mitt Romney wants to “exterminate black people” and many of them have been openly threatening to harm him if he does win the election. This is a very dangerous sign, and these threats should be taken very seriously. Of course a lot of Romney supporters are also likely to go absolutely insane if Obama ends up winning. In fact, one Romney supporter apparently put a bullet through the window of an Obama campaign office in Denver the other day. But when it comes to threatening to do crazy things if the election does not go their way, Obama supporters definitely take the cake.

Many of these tweets (?) involve leaving the country, or organizing a massive walkout of their jobs. A couple involve personally starting a riot. I think there will be isolated instances of violence, although I doubt if the whole country will erupt. Everybody knows that in America, there are a lot of guns and an equal number of people who are unafraid to use them to protect themselves, their property and their families. As far as leaving the country, let them. As far as leaving their jobs – I am sure there are hundreds of people willing to take their place.

We have two branches of government completely bought out by big corporations and the "1 percent" and that includes both parties. If Romney is elected, there is no doubt that the third branch will be added to the list. Already, the right wing majority in the Supreme Court is violating the Constitution on a regular basis and has enabled the very extreme Citizen's United quest. The Republicans in Congress won't allow even any judges to be appointed unless they are far right. The one thing Democrats have done is appointing free thinking, moderate judges. It is never very productive to peddle hysteria like this. Of course people will get upset if Obama loses but think of the alternative. But most important is 50 comments representative of the general mood of the people.
The alternative to Romney winning and returning the US to responsible government is a continued roller coaster and an ever mounting debt in the presuit of a miss-guided socialist ideal. The world has toyed with socialism since the beginning of time. Even the Christian Church was founded on a basis of pooled wealth and shared resources. It still works in the highland villages of Papua New Guinea, in tribal systems in South America and in poor communities in various parts of the world to mention a few. But is is just that, community based help, where all are known and you cannot hide behind a lobby group.
The majority of people in educated societies know that you cannot continue to try and help your people while destroying the basis on which the economy was built on. The economy was built on the free enterprise system, where the market innovates, sets the price and a legislative system that controls the excesses.
Romney wants to attached innovation and bring life back into the US economy. We must have the courage to get behind him or who ever can deliver a return to prosperity.
